Julie Howard’s career path in senior services is a long and successful one. The Villaggio SLO residency counselor received a master’s degree in gerontology with a specialty in long‐term care administration from USC, and she holds a State of California skilled nursing administrator license. Julie has firsthand experience as executive director of several local senior living facilities and faculty lead for Cuesta College’s Emeritus program for older adults. And she has a personal passion for seniors – spend a few minutes with Julie and experience the palpable feeling of her commitment. Julie constantly challenges stereotypes associated with aging.
Julie spent most of her adult life in Pasadena before moving to the Central Coast in 2006, where she and her husband found a dream location on a ten‐acre ranch in the North County. Today she is enjoying the farm life, riding horses to a neighbor winery for lunch or gathering eggs from prolifically producing hens. And while Julie is enamored of country living, she and her husband are looking forward to leaving a few chores behind when they make a permanent move to Villaggio.
